The DeBartolo Family Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of the Tampa Bay area’s most underserved populations. By providing educational scholarships, supporting grassroots organizations, and creating financial assistance programs like the Spirit of Humanity Award, we offer hope and a helping hand to the members of our community who need it most.
For nearly two decades, we have strengthened the community by helping youth, veterans, animals, and local grassroots organizations that share our mission and values.
Our city, state, and country are all suffering greatly as a result of this unprecedented health crisis.
But in this challenging time, the DeBartolo Family Foundation has strengthened its resolve, executed its mission and rallied its wide and compassionate network of donors, supporters and volunteers to come together to fight this invisible adversary. We know our community needs our help now more than ever.
In the first quarter of 2020, economists estimate that 767,000 Floridians have lost their jobs. By 2021, we will see double-digit unemployment. Lines of cars at Tampa Bay area foods banks are so long that many desperate families go home hungry. Pets owned by out-of-work families are even more vulnerable.
With your help, our family was able to respond immediately, supporting the brave people on the front lines, who are putting their own lives at risk to battle the spread of the virus. Our donations will help create a COVID-19 unit at Tampa General Hospital; provide 5 million meals for Feeding Tampa Bay; support local families in need through Metropolitan Ministries; and pay for surgeries for pets whose owners can’t afford them with Frankie’s Friends to name a few.
How we stand together and respond to this unrelenting pandemic will define our legacy as a community. We are committed to this challenge and ask you to join us. Our efforts have only just begun.
Chief Executive Officer, DeBartolo Family Foundation
I am honored to be a recipient of the DeBartolo Family Foundation Scholarhsip. With immense gratitude for this generous support, I am able to say I will be the first in my family to attend college and the first with plans to become a nurse. Once again, thank you for your generosity and support as I am getting steps closer to becoming a registered nurse.

To be recognized with The Spirit of Humanity Award from the DeBartolo family is such an amazing honor and it helps shine a light on our continuing commitment to support our deployed servicemen and women in our community. These families have sacrificed so such for our country and in most cases have deployed multiple times in harms way. It is so rewarding to welcome these families home and see them re-bond with their loved ones at our events.

I cannot begin to express just how meaningful your involvement and trust has been for our work, on behalf of kids and teens who need us most. From contributions that have enabled us to serve more youth to your recent commitment to serve as a Foundation Trustee, you are truly a champion to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay.
