THE DEBARTOLO FAMILY FOUNDATION WAS FOUNDED IN 2001 WITH ONE GOAL IN MIND:

To channel the same level of care, compassion and dedication that has allowed the DeBartolo family to find success in real estate, sports, and other ventures, into efforts that help serve the underserved communities of Tampa Bay.

For nearly two decades, we have strengthened the community by helping youth, veterans, animals, and local grassroots organizations that share our mission and values. The Foundation annually awards scholarships to students, provides back to school grants to local teachers, adopts Bay Area families during the holidays, and three times each year presents the Spirit of Humanity Award – a $25,000 donation that honors the most outstanding local philanthropic outreach programs. Since 2002, the DeBartolo Family Foundation has given nearly $17 million to strengthen Tampa Bay by bringing people together through its passion for giving back.

We reserve a special place in our hearts for animals. To us, they are family. From supporting organizations that help save pets’ lives, to partnering with the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to build a multi-story, state-of-the-art animal shelter, we believe it’s essential to give a voice to those who can’t speak for themselves, and bring so much joy to our community.

From day one, our greatest passion has been to support the underserved of the community we call home. We adopt Bay area families for the holidays, to ensure that they don’t miss out on the giving spirit of the season, and award the Spirit of Humanity Award three times a year to nonprofits that share our commitment to making a difference in the lives of our fellow community members.

Our support of those who have served goes beyond a mere salute for their patriotic duty. We advocate for those who have fought for our freedom by extending financial grants to boots-on-the-ground charities that make a real difference to veterans and their families.

Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Whether it’s through scholarships to high school students, school supply grants to teachers, partnering with youth development programs, or supporting groups that are enriching the lives of children battling illness, we are dedicated to helping young people in our community.
