The DeBartolo Family Foundation is committed to providing children the opportunity to reach their full potential. More than 162 schools in Hillsborough County are classified Title I schools, with a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students where at least 75% of those students qualify for free or reduced price meals.

To help offer enrichment and support programs for students, faculty and staff at these schools, the DeBartolo Family Foundation has created an Adopt-A-School program. During the 2022-2023 school year, we provided Mort Elementary in Tampa, Fla., backpacks and school supplies, teacher grants, and a $25,000 donation to be used towards building community with extra-curricular and social experiences for students. Last school year, we worked with Dover Elementary where we funded field trips to Lowry Park Zoo and Busch Gardens, teacher grants, new physical education equipment, student and staff team shirts, I-Ready incentives and gifts for the entire staff at the holidays and appreciation week.

For this academic school year, we are excited to work with the teachers and staff at Pierce Middle School.

If you are interested in being considered for the DeBartolo Family Foundation Adopt-A-School program, please check back in January to complete an application. To qualify, schools must be designated a Title 1 school in Hillsborough County.
